Len Wallis Audio
Len Wallis Audio was founded in 1978. At this time it was a one man affair operating out of small premises in Lane Cove. Within five years we moved, still in Lane Cove, to a larger store with a number of sound lounges and a dedicated service department. We moved again in 1994, yet again staying in Lane Cove, into our present premises - which we consider to be the most advanced of its kind in Australia.
We now have a total of twelve sound-lounges plus a mock ‘smart-house’; we still have an on-site service department, and have on site parking (accessible through the council car park at the rear of the building). As well as our established retail division we have been actively involved in the Custom Installation arm of this industry for the last 15 years. If you wish to have audio and/or video wired throughout your home or office, or may-by you are looking for a completely automated home, we are the company to see. We have won a CEDIA 'Installation of the Year' a total of six times.
During this time the company has been built up to become a leading force in this industry. In 1990 it was listed by High Fidelity magazine in the UK as one of the five best Hi-Fi stores in the world. Over the last decade we have received numerous industry awards, and in 1996 were ranked as one of the NSW Top 500 Privately Owned Companies. In 2001 Len Wallis Audio was the first company outside of the United States to win the coveted CEDIA ‘Installer of the Year’.
Since inception the philosophy behind the 'Len Wallis Audio' way of doing business has not changed. Initially we appraised equipment by its ability to replay music (rather than being hung-up on the technology itself). This same approach has persevered as we move into newer directions, eg Visual and Home Automation markets. We are also great believers in service, and Len now lectures other industries on the subject.
Most importantly, we have always firstly considered ourselves to be specialists (not being distracted by CB Radio, mobile phones, etc as they hit the market), and secondly we have always sought out products of quality (this does not always equate to expensive, as brands such as NAD and Rotel attest).

Len Wallis
Managing Director
-----------------------------------
email Len Wallis
Len was born in Queensland, and grew up in country NSW.
He gained his secondary education at a Sydney boarding school, and has lived in the city ever since (although Len is a keen participant in the Variety Club Bash – revelling in the chance to drive in outback Australia).
Len began his career in Hi-Fi working for the now defunct MS Sound in St Peters in 1970. He then worked for, also now defunct, (do we see a pattern emerging here?) Allied Hi-Fi in Crows Nest, prior to opening Len Wallis Audio in 1978.
Len has always had a love of music; even as a kid he would carry a transistor radio wherever he went. While over the years musical tastes may have changed somewhat (currently listening to jazz and classical), this love of music has worked to form the basis of our business philosophy – our appreciation of the products that we sell and support stems from their ability to accurately reproduce the music we are playing at the time, rather than an appreciation of electronics for the sake of electronics.
